2. How many old people are abusing substances to feel better?
Interesting info. related to questions : "Although alcohol and substance abuse is statistically at epidemic proportions among the elderly, it remains for the most part unreported, undiagnosed, or ignored." (T. 1)

"The reasons that substance abuse by our senior citizens goes undetected are varied, but most have to do with the fact they are no longer active in mainstream society and there is simply no one around to notice.

They are less likely to get in trouble with the law -- stopped for driving under the influence, having a traffic accident, or causing problems in the community. Therefore they have little contact with the police or the criminal justice system. Since many are retired, there is very little chance their drinking will cause them to lose a job or career." how I feel About old People

Some points in my life I feel in way sorry for older people because that arent able to enjoy most of the things I am able to enjoy at a young age. But other times I feel that older people have a great amount of wisdom because of all the experiences they had and what they have learned from. But some times I think the way they try and teach younger generations their learnings, its hard for us to understand them or connect with them because of difference in age and generations. Sometimes i feel that most older people are at peace because often you see them smiling or enjoying quality time with their grand children, but many are often anger, old, rude, mean elders that hate the younger generation, which makes it even more difficult for us to have sympathy and try to reach out to connect with them.
